Longview, TX (July 19, 2019) — Longview Regional Medical Center’s Dr. Justin Morris, D.O., has been named the EMS Medical Director for the City of Longview. Morris serves as a doctor in the ER at LRMC.
As the EMS Medical Director, Morris will provide leadership and coordination for the Longview Fire Department’s EMS Section. He will provide oversight for EMS protocols and medical procedures, including pre-hospital procedures.
“I’ve always been impressed by the Longview Fire Department and have always had an interest in EMS, so when this opportunity arrived I expressed my interest,” Morris said. “I feel fortunate to have been selected and excited to work with the LFD team.”
“We are so fortunate to have Dr. Morris in this position,” LRMC CEO Casey Robertson said. “He is extremely knowledgeable and provides excellent patient care. He is committed to ensuring that all patients transported via EMS receive the same quality of care pre-hospital that he provides to his own patients.”
The Longview Fire Department’s EMS Section coordinates operational readiness of the EMS system, which is designed to meet the out-of-hospital emergency medical care needs of the community. The EMS Section is comprised of the Medical Director, an EMS Section Chief, and an EMS Operations Officer.
The Longview City Council named Morris the new Medical Director at a City Council meeting in May. His agreement with the city went into effect June 1.
