LONGVIEW, Texas – At more than 276,000 patient encounters last year, Longview Regional Medical Center delivered on its commitment to provide quality healthcare for the East Texas community. The health system’s 2025 Community Benefit Report shows care extended well beyond the hospital and clinics, contributing more than $412 million to the region through charity/uncompensated care provided, capital dollars reinvested in services and facilities, employee payroll, charitable projects and payment of more than $12 million in taxes to support area schools and infrastructure.
Longview Regional Medical Center invested more than $14 million in projects to expand access and strengthen services across the region in 2025. This included advanced imaging and diagnostic capabilities to improve the patient experience and enable physicians to identify and evaluate conditions more efficiently. LRMC also expanded its primary care presence by growing its provider network for greater and more convenient access to healthcare for East Texans.
“We are here to care for our patients and the place we all call home,” said Patrick Swindle, chief executive officer of Longview Regional Medical Center. “Health is central to quality of life, and we offer advanced medical services here in East Texas to make it easy to access the care you need. It’s our privilege to transform lives every day, helping patients manage their health at every stage of life.”
Area families grew with the help of Longview Regional Medical Center, as the hospital delivered more than 2,100 babies in 2025.
Patient safety remains a top priority as well, as reflected in Longview Regional Medical Center’s “A” grade from The Leapfrog Group’s Hospital Safety Grades in November. The hospital’s commitment to quality care was also recognized by the American College of Cardiology, which awarded LRMC Chest Pain Accreditation with Primary PCI for its expertise in rapidly evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients experiencing heart attacks.
Emergency medicine is also a critical service, with more than 44,400 visits to the emergency room at Longview Regional Medical Center and its affiliated freestanding emergency room, Longview Regional Emergency Center. Life-saving medically necessary care was provided to all
patients, regardless of their ability to pay, with more than $412 million in charity and uncompensated care in 2025.
The health system and its employees also support local organizations that make a difference, especially those addressing social determinants of health. Through service projects such as the annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter drive for Longview Community Ministries and contributions to charitable organizations such as East Texas Angel Network, Boys and Girls Club of Gregg County and East Texas CASA, Longview Regional gives back throughout the year.
Payroll of more than $140M million supports the delivery of around the clock care by a team of physicians, nurses and support staff, all passionate about serving patients. Their compassion and skills make a difference in the lives of neighbors, friends and the larger community.
“We have immense gratitude for every member of our team, and we are investing in resources to support them in their work and a culture that attracts and retains these talented people,” said Swindle. “This team is passionate about delivering quality care to those who are counting on us. We have an unwavering commitment to patient safety, clinical excellence, and doing the right thing every day for those who trust us with their care.”
Longview Regional Medical Center continues to expand and elevate care across East Texas through innovative procedures, advanced technology, and a growing network of services. From introducing a first-in-region treatment for carotid artery disease and reaching key cardiology
milestones, to enhancing outcomes with robotic-assisted surgery, LRMC remains committed to clinical excellence. Women’s services continue to set the standard—recognized as the Best Place to Have a Baby for 12 consecutive years—while expanding access through online
mammogram scheduling and fostering community through its annual NICU Reunion. Supported by a strong and expanding primary care network, LRMC is committed to delivering accessible, quality care that meets the evolving needs of the communities it serves.
Support for the future healthcare workforce remains a priority at Longview Regional Medical Center. In 2025, LRMC continued its commitment to developing the next generation of healthcare professionals by serving as a key clinical training site for both regional and national
institutions, providing hands-on clinical rotations for more than 500 students across a wide range of disciplines—including pharmacy, radiology, respiratory therapy, rehabilitation therapies, and surgical technology—and helping equip them with the necessary skills to deliver quality
care to communities across East Texas and beyond.
