The mission of the Pediatrics department is to provide effective, efficient and responsive medical care for all infants, children and adolescents through disease prevention and acute disease management. The patients may be ambulatory or non-ambulatory and they may be classified as inpatients, outpatients or observation patients.
Patient care on these units consists of a multi-disciplinary approach that involves the physician, nurse, social services, and any ancillary team member necessary for the treatment and care of these patients. Staffing is specific for these pediatric patients and is provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
