| Health Resources: |
Well-Being Poor physical health can impair mental health - and mental health disorders, such as depression or anxiety, can affect physical health. |
The Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) unit at Longview Regional Medical Center caters specifically to the needs of geriatric patients with an acute diagnosis and multiple underlying conditions.
This 12-bed, private room unit, designed for patients 65 and older, provides acute hospitalization care for patients who require focused nursing care as well as restorative nursing care and/or functional services. For the patients’ safety and families’ peace of mind, the ACE unit is a lock-secured environment.
In addition to a nursing staff especially trained to assist the elderly population, ACE also offers an interdisciplinary approach to care for the elderly in a physically modified unit, which promotes independence.
Visitation hours for the unit are from 9–10 a.m.; 1–2 p.m.; 4–5 p.m.; and 8–9 p.m.
