Longview Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce the winner of the Patient’s Choice Award, Emily Pearson, RN, BSN.  Ms. Pearson works in the pediatric area of the hospital.  She was recognized for her exceptional skills in quality care, comfort and compassion. 

Nominations from the community were accumulated from those who have been an inpatient, outpatient or emergency care in the last year at LRMC.  From those entries, one nurse was selected by our administrative staff.  Ms. Pearson will be featured in an ad this week during Nurses’ Week, May 6 through May 12.

Why would be asking former patients to be so involved in spotlighting an exceptional nurse, rather than making the choice internally?  “Sometimes it’s just too hard to spot one nurse when there are so many nurses in our hospital doing such an incredible job caring for our patients,” says Stephanie Foster, Chief Nursing Officer for LRMC. “That’s why we asked patients to help us make the choice. They see the little things that matter so much on a very personal level.”

Ms. Pearson was honored at a special luncheon in June.  She received a plaque and a monetary award. She will also be featured in hospital ads in the newspaper throughout the year and will be displayed on posters in our facility. 

We would like to thank the families who nominated Emily Pearson, RN, BSN. We would also like to thank Ms. Pearson for going the extra mile with her patient care by reflecting the hospital’s values; quality, excellence, mutual respect, commitment, integrity, stewardship, sound judgment and compassion.
