Longview Regional Medical Center has received the Texas Health Care Quality Improvement Award of Excellence, for the second year in a row, from TMF® Health Quality Institute, the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for Texas. In the past, many patients were limited to which hospital they could choose due to the restrictive nature of the insurance plan or managed care network. This year, many insurance providers, such as Aetna, CIGNA, HealthSmart, Texas True Choice and United Healthcare have opted to allow patients to select their hospital of choice. As the year matures, we expect additional insurance providers to open their networks and allow their members to have choice.
